Optimised drainage

When installing a new bathroom, new drains may be required to assist an efficient amount of draining for your bathroom. Important points that should be considered when installing new drainage are adequate runs for water to be able to flow to avoid blockages and bad smells. Choosing the right pipe size is also crucial to ensure adequate drainage.

Optimal water pressure

If you are lacking water pressure, there are limited solutions depending on what kind of system your property has. If you have a combination boiler, you are restricted to your mains water pressure. If you have a tank fed hot and cold-water system, you can install a shower pump to boost your water pressure equating to a more powerful shower.

Choice of shower valves

Many different types of shower systems exist today: electric, digital, manual, and thermostatic. Most in-wall shower valves are thermostatic which regulate the temperature and flow better as opposed to manual mixer taps which require you to balance your own flow and temperature. This is a noteworthy advantage of thermostatic over manual shower mixers.

Digital Showers

Digital showers are a more luxurious option. The main advantage of a digital shower is that you do not need to have a valve actually in a tiled wall. A digital shower unit can be installed anywhere in the bathroom as opposed to a traditional thermostatic valve which has to be installed into a tiled wall. A digital shower therefor ensure easy access in terms of maintenance and replacement if needed and minimal damage, i.e. not to having to dig out tiled walls when there is a problem. Digital showers have many other added benefits and features depending on the model you choose such as visible temperature display and setting an exact temperature.

Underfloor heating

An added luxury for your bathroom can be underfloor tile heating, not as steeply priced as you may think! They are especially beneficial with ground floor bathrooms as they tend to have colder floors, especially if wer’e talking about concrete floors. Underfloor heating is relatively straightforward to install and is carried out whilst the tiles are being laid.
